How to use Google webmaster disavow link tool?
Disavow backlinks are said to be a two-step process. Very first step is to download a list of links to your site. After that prepare a file containing only the links you want to disavow. The second step is to upload this file to Google.
In order to download links to your site you may please refer to the steps mentioned below:
- Login to Webmaster Tools homepage, click the site of your choice.
- On the Dashboard, click on “Links to your site” under “search traffic”.
- Now click on “more” under “who links the most”.
- Click Download “more sample links”. If you click Download latest links, you’ll see dates as well.
If you want to ignore all links coming from one domain you can simply type domain:example.com.
In order to upload a list of links to disavow, below are the steps mentioned
- Go to the disavow links tool page.
- Select your website.
- Click Disavow links.
- Click Choose file.
Note: uploading a new file will replace your old file.
why should you use this tool?
It has one main purpose — removing harmful links from Google’s consideration so that the website become more safe and secure to gain its own position.
There are other three reasons why you would want to do that. I’ll go through each one, from the worst-case to best-case scenario.
Reason #1: It can be easily used if your website receives a manual penalty.
